BOSTON, MA – The race for Governor of Massachusetts is clearly a two-person race between Geoff Diehl and Maura Healey, based on the results of polling released by the Fiscal Alliance Foundation earlier today.
According to the poll, Diehl and Healey are the only two candidates for Governor to earn more than two percent of support from voters in either political party, or amongst unenrolled voters. Looking specifically at likely Republican voters, the poll found Diehl earning 27.1% of the vote, far outpacing his Republican rival, Chris Doughty, who polled at only 2.5%.
“This poll is confirmation that the message of our campaign is resonating with voters,” Diehl campaign chair Amanda Orlando said in a statement. “The race for Governor is quite clearly a two-person race between Geoff Diehl and Maura Healey. Our campaign is confident that Republican voters will continue to see the race in those terms through the Republican primary in September. And, once voters consider how Maura Healey’s far-left progressive policies will lead Massachusetts further in the wrong direction, we are confident that voters overall will choose Geoff Diehl to be their next Governor in November.”
